A missing 19-year-old woman from Pennsylvania last seen at a Rego Park hotel a number of weeks ago may be a sex trafficking victim, police sources said on Tuesday.
Family members reported Corinna Slusser, 19, missing several weeks ago; police determined that her last known whereabouts were on Sept. 20 at the Haven Motel located at 68-05 Woodhaven Blvd. in Rego Park.
Though the motel is located in the 112th Precinct‘s confines, the NYPD released a missing person’s report on Slusser from the 32nd Precinct. A police spokesperson could not explain why the report was listed from the Bronx-based command.
Law enforcement sources stated that the NYPD Vice Enforcement Squad is investigating Slusser’s disappearance as a possible sex trafficking case. Police noted that she was the reported victim of an assault that occurred in the 48th Precinct’s confines in the Bronx, about a month before her disappearance.
The New York Post reported that she recently filed a complaint against a man who is also an alleged pimp. A number of her friends on social media posted pleas for help in finding her, according to the New York Daily News.
Police described Slusser as a white female with blond hair and blue eyes standing between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. She also has a large black tattoo in the shape of a flower in the middle of her chest.
