A 68-year-old driver died on Saturday night after his vehicle collided with another at a Forest Hills intersection, police said.

Law enforcement sources said the incident took place at 6:35 p.m. on Nov. 18 at the corner of Queens Boulevard and 71st Avenue.

According to authorities, the victim was behind the wheel of a gray Jeep that struck the rear of a Mercedes-Benz operated by a 38-year-old woman that was stopped at a red light.

Officers from the 112th Precinct and Fire Department personnel responded to a 911 call about the crash and found the female woman pinned inside her car. The Jeep’s driver, meanwhile, was unconscious and unresponsive behind the wheel; a source with knowledge of the investigation said he may have suffered cardiac arrest.

Paramedics rushed the 68-year-old man to Northwell Forest Hills Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police withheld his identity, pending family notification.

FDNY personnel freed the 38-year-old woman from her vehicle without further incident, police said.

The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is continuing its inquiry into the collision.
