Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) continues to expand by picking up several new cargo handling contracts by passenger and freighter airlines in France. Vietnam Airlines has renewed its handling contract with WFS; CAL Cargo Airlines has appointed WFS to provide receiving points for cargo; WFS has also won contracts for the whole of France from the Moldovan airline FlyONE for onboard freight; Air France has also chosen WFS as its cargo handling partner at three gateways in France; Additional business with Italian carrier, Meridiana.

Jet Airways eyes cargo network expansion and capacity as it carries more cargo from the growing Indian market. CEO Vinay Dube spoke of freight importance to the airline’s performance. Cathay Pacific Airways grew its cargo tonnage and freight in October compared to the same month in 2016.Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon carried 180,706 tons of cargo and mail last month, an increase of 4.8 per cent compared to the same month last year. The cargo and mail load factor rose by 1.2 percentage points to 69.3 per cent as seen partially by the growth of e-pack and mail to JFK Airport.

Boeing dominates as it closed a 300 plane deal with during the recent trade mission trip to China with President Trump. The agreement includes orders and commitments for 300 Boeing single-aisle and twin-aisle aircraft. The aircraft are valued at more than $37 billion at list prices. Said CEO Kevin McAllister says: “China is a valued customer and key partner, and we’re proud that Boeing airplanes will be a part of its fleet growth for years to come.This transaction follows a big win by Boeing over Airbus for a recent Singapore Airlines purchase.
Miami Cargo Flight Tracker was launched at Miami International Airport. It is the first real-time online cargo flight information display system in the U.S. unveiled at the Air Cargo Americas conference and exhibition in Miami. The tracker allows shippers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and logistics providers to easily view real-time cargo flight information on their mobile devices while on the go.
