A Jamaica man died of his injuries after he crashed his motorcycle into another car in Richmond Hill on Thursday morning.
At 5:38 a.m. on March 1, police responded to a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist on Park Lane South at Myrtle Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a motorcyclist, who has been identified as 24-year-old Daniel O’Malley, lying on the roadway with trauma about the body.
An investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad found that O’Malley, who was operating a 2013 Harley Davidson, was traveling southbound on Park Lane South when he lost control at the Myrtle Avenue intersection. He entered the northbound lanes and struck the 22-year-old male that was operating a 2004 Mercedes SUV.
O’Malley was dislodged from the motorcycle when it mounted the sidewalk.
