Police are investigating after a young woman was discovered dead inside of her Flushing apartment on Sunday.

On May 27 at around 12:35 p.m., officers from the 109th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious woman inside of an apartment building on Bowne Street between 41st and Barclay avenues, according to authorities.

An 18-year-old woman, identified by authorities as Emily Gonzalez, was found lying facedown in her bed.

Emergency responders performed CPR on the teen at the scene, but were unsuccessful, an NYPD spokesperson said. Gonzalez was then transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

There were no signs of trauma, authorities said. The medical examiner will determine cause of death.

The incident is still under investigation.
