Four units in Astoria have been added to the City’s affordable housing lottery, each with a monthly rent of $2,300.
The units, all one-bedroom apartments, require applicants to have a minimum yearly income of $78,000 in order to qualify.
Individual households must earn between $78,858 and $97,110 yearly, while households of two can earn up to $111,020 and households of three can earn up to $124,930 annually.
The city began accepting applications for the new apartments at 22-22 Steinway Street today and applicants have until July 25 to submit applications.
The four-story building consists of a total of 13 units and includes a card-operated laundry room and storage, as well as parking at an additional fee.
Tenants will be responsible for paying for electricity, including air conditioning, while the building’s owner will cover the cost of heat and gas.
There is no preference for residents of Community Board 1, which covers Astoria.
To apply, applicants can go to nyc.gov/housingconnect for online applications, or else send a self-addressed envelop to 22-22 Steinway St. to request an application by mail.
