St. Albans man dies in motorcycle crash in Queens Village: NYPD

A 31-year-old man is dead after crashing his motorcycle in Queens Village over the weekend.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, around 4:28 a.m., police officers responded to a call of a crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of the Cross Island Parkway and 109th Avenue, according to the NYPD.

Officers arrived to find Michael Roach, who lived in St. Albans, unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his head and body, police said.

Roach was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the authorities.

According to the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad, Roach was driving his motorcycle at a high rate of speed southbound on the Cross Island Parkway. As he approached 109th Avenue, he lost control of the 2012 BMW motorcycle and crashed, according to the police.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
