The Queens Tech Council will hold its inaugural networking event Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the ICONYC Brewing Company in Long Island City.

The Queens Chamber of Commerce began forming the Council in February, two years after Amazon abandoned its plans to build an HQ2 campus along the Anable Basin on the East River waterfront.

The e-commerce giant will participate in the networking event, along with Google, Facebook, Lyft, Cornell Tech and JetBlue Ventures. The Queens Tech Council is charting the way forward with a focus on building an economy that embraces innovation and prompts tech adoption, from existing giants in established industries to startups working on cutting-edge applications.

“We’re thrilled to finally have the opportunity to gather in-person for our inaugural Queens Tech Council networking event,” Queens Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Grech said. “On Tuesday, attendees will be able to socialize, have a drink and connect with other entrepreneurs and established firms from our burgeoning Queens tech sector, all while learning more about what the Queens Tech Council has to offer.”

The networking event gets underway at ICONYC Brewing at 6 p.m. at 43-63 11th St., just two blocks south of the Queensboro Bridge.

Participants will learn about all the projects QTC has been working on, and find out how to get involved and be part of its mission to promote a robust and thriving tech ecosystem that “works for all of Queens.”
