Couple breaks into Flushing furniture store, nabs huge haul of cash

Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing are looking for a man and a woman who allegedly broke into a Main Street furniture store last week.

On Tuesday, Sept. 21 around 1:15 p.m., a woman served as a lookout as her partner broke open the lock on the door of the New Happy Furniture Store, located at 43-02 Main St., police said. Once inside, the man removed approximately $40,000 from the desk and they fled on foot to parts unknown.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspects and described them as approximately 18 to 20 years old, wearing dark long-sleeved shirts and masks. The man was wearing light shorts and the woman had sunglasses on top of her head.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
