NYPD searching for gunman in Jackson Heights shooting incident

Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights are looking for a gunman who allegedly fired gunshots into a crowd near Roosevelt Avenue last month.

Investigators said that just before 7 a.m., in front of 37-61 78th St., a man opened fire at a group of people standing near the Bad Moon tattoo and body piercing shop and jumped into a blue Honda Accord before fleeing the crime scene southbound on 78th Street, according to the NYPD.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the shooting, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect who is described as a Black man in his 20s who was last seen wearing a black sweater, black jeans, and black and white sneakers.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
