The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that closures will take place on the exit ramp from the lower level of westbound Long Island Expressway (I-495) to westbound Long Island Expressway (Midtown Tunnel/Manhattan) at 48th Street in Queens, on or about Oct. 27 through Nov. 7.
This closure will be implemented on Thursday morning, Oct. 27, and Wednesday morning, Nov. 2, from 12:01 a.m. to approximately 5 a.m. each morning, as well as Friday nights at 8 p.m. and continuing through Monday mornings at approximately 5 a.m.
NYSDOT advises motorists wanting to access the exit should instead take the exit ramp to eastbound Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (48th Street) and follow the signed detour.
These closures will allow NYSDOT to work on a $13 million pavement preservation project taking place in Queens, Brooklyn and Richmond counties.
