Excavation and pilings are nearing completion at the construction site of an upcoming 9-story commercial building at 37-18 138th St. in Flushing.

As of the end of January 2025, most of the site had been excavated well below street level. The retaining walls are supported by rows of steel pilings and angled beams, with additional pilings, beams, and wooden boards also stacked up as the construction workers prepare to make foundation preparations. Based on the pace of the work being done, construction could rise above street level as early as summer 2025. Construction of the building is expected to be completed in May 2026.

The completed building will stand 120 feet tall and yield approximately 92,000 square feet of space, with 65,000 square feet set to be taken up by restaurants, retail, offices and a rooftop bar, and the other 27,000 square feet going towards medical office space.

Based on renderings of the structure, an expansive terrace lined with landscaping would take up the top of the tall podium of the building. The western edge of the plot has the structure rising, with levels five through eight each having stepped setbacks. These setbacks also provide more terrain space. A glass curtain wall with dark gray metal paneling will be featured on the building’s exterior. A rooftop bar terrace, partially covered by a canopy, will be at the top of the building.

AKAIA Architecture designed this commercial building. The architect of record is Angelo Ng and Anthony Ng Architects Studio, PC. The development of the structure is being handled by New Age Developers LLC.
