Two Queens residents may be thousands of dollars richer after the New York Lottery announced multiple top-prize winning tickets were sold in the borough for the May 2 TAKE 5 drawings.

One of the prizes, worth $37,538, came from the TAKE 5 Evening drawing and was sold at Lucky Huang Grocery Store Inc., located at 82-61 Broadway in Elmhurst, according to state lottery officials.

Meanwhile, a second Queens winner took home $6,883 from the TAKE 5 Midday drawing. That winning ticket was purchased at Queens Deli Express, located at 101-19B Queens Blvd. in Forest Hills.

TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39 and are televised twice daily, at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Winning draw game prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

The New York Lottery, which contributed $3.8 billion to public education in the 2023–2024 fiscal year, remains North America’s largest and most profitable lottery system.

Queens residents can check their tickets at nylottery.ny.gov or by visiting local retailers. New Yorkers experiencing gambling-related problems are encouraged to seek help through the state’s confidential HOPEline at 1-877-8-HOPENY.
