The Queens Botanical Garden (QBG) is offering summer programs for kids to develop their green thumbs while having fun in nature.
The garden, located at 43-50 Main St., in Flushing, is hosting garden programs for ages 2-14 to allow children to immerse themselves in nature, learn something new, and enjoy spending time with other kids their age every day during the week.
The programs, which begin in July, offer daily camp until August. They consist of three groups for various ages, with different start dates and times depending on the groups. Registration is open now, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

July Garden Buds: Summer Sunshine (Ages 2 & 3)
July 11 to Aug. 3, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
This program gives the garden’s youngest guests the opportunity to explore nature and learn the basics of gardening in this one-hour weekly class, accompanied by a parent or guardian. The summer program provides both parents and little ones the chance to harvest garden produce, make botanical crafts, share stories and songs, and enjoy a fun and unique summer experience. The price is $150 for non-members and $135 for members.

Summer Children’s Garden (Ages 4–10)
July 7 to Aug. 21, Mondays to Thursdays
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kids can enjoy a day filled with planting, playing, learning, and exploring in a nature-filled, nurturing environment. This summer program gives children the opportunity to grow veggies, make art and recipes, discover nature, and make friends. Prices for this camp include a two-week Session for $900 for non-members and $810 for members and one-week sessions for $450 for non-members and $405 for members. An extended hours option is available until 5:30 p.m. for $40 extra per day.

Junior Naturalists (Ages 10–14)
July 7-17, July 21-31, Aug. 4-14
Mondays through Thursdays
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Pre-teens can enjoy the day at the garden, exploring the grounds and using their observational skills to learn more about nature in everyday life. The program will consist of garden projects, learning more about local plants and animals and how to identify them, science experiments, learning about topics in environmental justice, and more fascinating adventures. Prices for his program include a two-week session for $900 for non-members and $810 for members.
Extended hours until 5:30 p.m. are available for $40 extra per day.
