Man pleads guilty in Rockaway Beach rape: DA

ROCKAWAY BEACH — A 24-year-old man pleaded guilty last week to raping an elderly woman last year, the Queens district attorney said.

Samuel Doctor pleaded guilty to first-degree rape before Queens Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Holder, District Attorney Richard Brown said.

According to the plea, Doctor grabbed his 62-year-old victim near Rockaway Beach Boulevard and 91st Street around 6 a.m. June 10, 2012, and shoved her into a metal barrier, Brown said.

As the woman screamed for help, Doctor demanded money, ripped off her clothes and sexually assaulted her before leaving the scene, the DA said.

Police were able to match Doctor’s DNA to a sample he had given as a result as a previous conviction.

Brown said the judge indicated he would sentence Doctor to 20 years in prison at his sentencing, scheduled for Jan. 14.
