Body found in the trunk of a burned car inside Idlewild Park lot in Brookville

Firefighters found a man’s burned body in the trunk of a car that caught fire inside a parking lot in Brookville‘s Idlewild Park on Saturday night, police reported.

The blaze was reported at 11:42 p.m. on Sept. 10 inside the lot near the corner of 224th Street and 149th Avenue. Firefighters and police officers discovered a 2010 Nissan Sentra burning upon arrival.

 

Shortly after the blaze was put out, firefighters opened the trunk and found the body of an unidentified male who had been significantly burned. The remains were brought to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
