The intersection of Farrington Street and 31st Road

A Flushing woman died on Saturday afternoon after being hit by an SUV as she attempted to cross the street, police reported.

Authorities said the incident occurred at 2:34 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the corner of Farrington Street and 31st Road.

According to law enforcement sources, 62-year-old Edith Perez of Kissena Boulevard was walking across Farrington Street when she was struck by a white Chevrolet Silverado that was turning onto Farrington Street onto 31st Road westbound.

The SUV’s driver stopped the vehicle after striking the woman and remained at the scene.

Officers from the 109th Precinct and EMS units responded to a 911 call about the incident. Upon arriving at the scene, they found Perez on the street with severe trauma to her head and torso.

Paramedics rushed her to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver was not charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
