A new website is coming next year that will help find homes for Amazon employees find homes in and around Long Island City.

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty is teaming up with TTR Sotheby’s International Realty, Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty and Sotheby’s International Realty to launch MyHQHome.com, a website that aims to current and future employees of Amazon find a home near Amazon’s two new headquarters.

MyHQHome.com will also help Seattle area residents that may choose to sell or lease their local home, or the surrounding areas near Long Island City and Crystal City. The full website with all of its features is set to launch in January 2019.

“Our goal is to provide an informational resource and personalized services through our exclusive network for Global Real Estate Advisors whom are resident experts in these target neighborhoods,” said Dean Jones, president and CEO of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty.

According to Deirdre O’Connell, CEO of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, it was important that MyHQHome.com had local information that would be important to potential users.

“We’re building the website so Amazon employees can experience all of our communities to move or join the company,” O’Connell said. “The website will have information about the neighborhoods and services available to them.”

In time, according to O’Connell, MyHQHome.com will be useful to those beyond potential Amazon employees and transplants.

“It will be a public portal, so it can be helpful for those who want to sell in the area as well,” O’Connell said.

O’Connell believes that the addition of Amazon’s HQ2 and Google’s further expansion into Manhattan will ultimately be good for the New York area and that we will see a significant shift in the people.

“We anticipate that there will be a surge in rentals at first,” O’Connell said. “Then I think we’ll see people to feather out into other communities based on their preferences and tastes.”

“I think we’ll be just as active with luxury lease referrals as we are with home sales,” added Jones. “We know some of these leases will evolve into home purchases a few years later.”

O’Connell said that Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty is looking forward to helping potentials users of MyHQHome.com find not just a place to live, but also to find a community that they can call home.

“I think this a very optimistic time for Queens, Long Island and the New York area as a whole and we’re very excited to be a part of it,” O’Connell said.
