Police are looking for a duo who were looking for a sugar high and stole candy and energy drinks from a Middle Village store, then assaulted a worker who tried to stop them.
According to authorities, at 5:03 a.m. on May 5, two unknown men entered a CVS, located at 79-60 Metropolitan Ave., carrying backpacks. Once inside, the suspects took 10 5-hour Energy shots and 20 Ferrero Rocher chocolates, valued at $50 and $47, respectively.
As the duo tried to leave the store, police said, they were confronted by a 26-year-old male employee, who one of the suspects shoved out of the way. The suspects then fled to parts unknown.
