Marble Modes Storm 59, McDonald’s of Bayside Jazz 39. Marble Modes Storm won their third game in a row, 50-39. The Storm pulled away from what was a close game in the first half. Leading the way with a balanced attack was Lenny Saputo with 18 points, Ryan Smith scored 16 points and Steve Cervino and Jeff Hoffman with eight points each. John Mc Entee and Wesley Wong scored six points each. Leading in rebounds for the Storm with six each were Rob Liquori and Matt Strax-Haber. Zack Simon of the Jazz had an outstanding game with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Derek Louttit scored six points, while Chris Hart and Zack Frank scored five points each.
Marble Modes Storm 57, New York Community Bank Knicks 37. The Storm continues to roll in as they beat the Knicks, 57-37. The Storm once again launched a balanced attack against their competition. Lenny Saputo scored 14 points, Ryan Smith scored 11 points and Jeff Hoffman, Matt Mione and Wesley Wong scored eight points each. Steve Cervno had six assists and scored six points. The Knicks’ leading scorers were Anthony Ramos with 19 points and 11 rebound and Sam Koenig with 10 points. John Nestor and Eric Feldman scored two points each. Justin Abruzzo chipped in with six assists.
Pathmark Grizzlies 43, McDonald’s of Little Neck Nets 25. The Grizzlies remain undefeated by pulling away in the second half, beating the Nets, 43-25. Great teamwork was the key to success. James Lizzul, Matt Stein and Kerry Chang had 10 points each, while Justin Black scored six points and Tyrone Frazier, Rob Fielder and Jared Belfer scored two points each. Vincent Vita led in rebounds with five. The Nets fought hard with Michael Buttafoco and Matt DiGirolomo scoring eight points each. Sean Duane had five points and 10 rebounds and Michael Wren and Izzy Klien scored two points each. Lawrence Frankel helped out with six rebounds.
Peter Pan Games Blue Devils 45, Stabile & Stabile Lakers 40. It was a close game up to the end, with the Blue Devils emerging victorious, beating the Lakers, 45-40. Leading the way with 13 points was Justin Cugini, followed by Alessandro Santorelli with 10 points and 10 rebounds. James Choi and Frankie Davi scored eight points each and Matt Kelly and Jenna Fogelman scored two points each. David Marsala had six rebounds. The Lakers put up a fight, led by Cody Stabile with 18 points and eight rebounds. Andrew Parraga scored seven points, Jason Wu scored six points, Willy Paybarah scored four points and David Graves and David Hetzron scored two points each.
