Volunteers Clean Up Graffiti

The 112th precinct community council sponsored a paint over of the graffiti in Forest Hills and Rego Park on October 14, 2006, with 57 volunteers of all ages participating in the event.
President of the community council Heidi Chain organized the event referring to it as a great success.
&#8220I was absolutely thrilled with the turnout,” Chain said. The event was a great success. Students and residents of Forest Hills, including a large number of volunteers from Forest Hills High School, other area high schools and members of the Kidz Care program volunteered throughout the day and the precinct rewarded each volunteer with a certificate of appreciation to thank them for their help.
&#8220We got a lot done; it was absolutely fantastic,” Chain said. &#8220They all seemed happy with their certificates.”
The 112th precinct supplied five vans as well as a number of officers who helped assist throughout the day. The precinct council was grateful for Captain Napolitano and all of the officers who helped make the day very successful.
