The streets of the 52nd Precinct will become even safer for local residents with the announcement of new officers to the area.
Deputy Inspector James Alles, commander of the 52nd Precinct, announced at the recent community council meeting on Thursday, January 24, that the station will receive 47 impact officers out of the new graduating class.
This brings the total amount of impact officers in the precinct to 90, according to Police Officer Yvette Ortega, who explained that the house will retain impact officers from the previous graduating police class until March or April.
Operation Impact is a statewide anti-crime program in which every graduate of the New York City Police Academy participates in when they graduate. As their first assignments, NYPD officers are assigned to some of the city
