BY: STEVE AVELLINO GYM DIRECTOR
Hello again, everyone.
A few months ago, I began giving you a written virtual tour of our gym and aerobic departments here at the Country Club.
In April we had a discussion regarding strength training options, citing the various methods and machines available to you.
Then, in May, we spoke about aerobic exercising, and had a dialogue about burning fat and staying fit.
This month, I would like to mention a few things about our Group Fitness Classes, and the wonderful job that our Aerobic Director, Lori Scolaro, and her team of professionals offer you each and every day.
Here at Towers Country Club, we offer a large variety of group fitness classes, ranging from basic yoga and stretch up to cardio kick and body blast classes.
There are different classes offered seven days a week, at set times. You can pick up a copy of our current class schedule at the front desk of the Country Club. The schedule changes periodically, so always be sure grab a new one at the beginning of each month.
As I have stated previously, always consult a physician before beginning any exercise program.
Options, options and more options. This is what is available to you at Towers Country Club.
“But Steve, with so many options, which one is right for me?” (Good question, inquisitive reader).
Start with setting goals. Once you have set a goal, whether it be strength training, balance and coordination, cardiovascular health, or building stamina and endurance, you have only two questions left to ask.
First, ask yourself, “Which activities am I medically cleared to participate in?” Finally, ask yourself, “Which activities do I enjoy the most?”
By answering these two questions honestly, you are well on your way to creating a safe and enjoyable exercise experience.
I have said over and over again that developing good habits is the clearest path to success. Once you incorporate exercise into your daily life, you will achieve not only the goals you had originally set, but you will find added benefits in many other areas of your life.
Entering the “world of exercise” will boost your self-esteem, help you become more aware of what you are eating, and add great fun to your every day life.
Joining us at the Country Club is also a great way to meet other exercise beginners, and make long lasting friendships. (It really can be a social event!!!)
All that I can share with you, is only who I am…
As a personal trainer, even I have struggled with compulsive eating and set-backs from time to time. However, I can honestly tell you that you must continue to fight for yourself.
Your physical, emotional and, if I may say, spiritual health is in your hands.
I implore you to ask the right questions, seek out a helping hand along the way, and create a life that you have always been capable of living.
Until next time…
