Clean fund raising

City Councilmembers David Weprin (standing, left) and James Gennaro (standing, right) took time out on a weekend recently to join in a fundraising effort by the Jamaica Estates/Holliswood/South Bayside Volunteer Ambulance Corps. The volunteers, led by Captain Daryl Mazlish (kneeling center) gathered by their headquarters, at 208th Street and Union Turnpike on Sunday, July 13, to wash cars in support of their group. The Corps, founded in 1973 responds to medical emergencies in its area in conjunction with city agencies. It also provides non-emergency transportation, equipment loans, courses in Cardiopulmonary Respiration (CPR) and stand-by first aid services at local community events.
