Police Arrest Man in Connection with Cabbie Robberies

On August 27, members of the NYPD’s Queens Robbery Squad arrested Paul Newman, 23, in connection with a series of cabbie robberies that began on August 13.
In each instance, police said, the suspect(s) robbed the livery cab drivers with a gun or other object. In three of the robberies, the cab itself was also stolen.
Newman has been charged with three counts of robbery and menacing.
