Senator Joseph Addabbo and his Howard Beach district office staff spent the past month coordinating a food drive with local schools to benefit an area food pantry as a hands-on, tangible way for students to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s life and ministry to better the lives of others. Some 50 boxes of non-perishable food were picked up over four days during the week of February 8-12 from P.S. 71 and P.S. 88 in Ridgewood, P.S. 60 in Woodhaven and P.S. 102 in Elmhurst. The food has been donated to Our Lady of Grace’s food pantry to benefit local families and older adults who need help in putting nutritious meals on their tables. If you would like to donate, the parish is located at 100-05 159th Avenue in Howard Beach. Call 718-843-6218 for more information.
