Wild chase, shootout nets one burglar

A wild early-morning chase and shootout on Tuesday, February 2 ended with one suspect in custody.

According to a police source, two male black perps robbed a home at 120th Street and 150th Avenue in South Ozone Park. The pair then drove around the block and executed another robbery.

Responding officers had a description from an eyewitness, said the source, and chased the suspects – who were driving a white Ford Fusion – to 153rd Street in Jamaica, confines of the 113th Precinct.

It was then, said the source, that the men shot at cops, who returned 10 rounds of fire. It is unclear at this time how many rounds the suspects fired.

According to reports, the perps crashed the Ford into a parked vehicle and dozens of cops, canines and an NYPD helicopter descended on the scene.

One of the suspects was arrested; the other was still on the loose as of press time. There were no injuries, and reports claim that a flat-screen TV was recovered from the perps’ vehicle.
