JAMAICA — A Hollis man was arrested last month for his alleged involvement in a violent burglary that injured two people, the Queens district attorney’s office said.
Bryon Ward, 28, of 199th Street, was charged with several counts of burglary and criminal possession of a weapon, the DA’s office said.
On Valentine’s Day, Ward, who was allegedly armed with a pistol, and a group of unapprehended masked individuals allegedly broke into a home on 88th Avenue and 191st Street, according to the criminal complaint.
After asking the owner to give up his wallet and sneakers at gunpoint, one of ward’s accomplices fired off a sawed-off shotgun into the floor of the home, the complaint said.
The bullets ricocheted and hit the owner and his father, causing several lacerations, the DA’s office said. One of the other men also allegedly pistol-whipped the father in the head during the burglary, according to the criminal complaint.
