Floater in the East River

108th Precinct

On Sunday April 25, police responded to a call for a person in the East River adjacent to Greenpoint Avenue and Van Dam Street.
Upon arrival, police discovered a man in his 50s floating in the water. The victim was pulled out of the water and was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene. An investigation is ongoing and the medical examiner will determine a cause of death.
