Shopper locked son in her Mercedes: Brown

FOREST HILLS — A Brooklyn woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after she allegedly locked her 3-year-old son in her car parked in the Trader Joe’s parking lot in Forest Hills, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

An officer allegedly saw the son of Michelle Lopez, 39, of 304 Boerum St. in Brooklyn, sitting in the rear seat of her parked and locked Mercedes and sweating in the store’s parking lot between 2:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. May 22 in Forest Hills, according to the criminal complaint.

The officer found Lopez inside Trader Joe’s and she allegedly admitted that the boy locked in her car was her son, the complaint said.

Lopez was arraigned May 23 before Queens Criminal Court Judge Joel Blumenfeld on one count of endangering the welfare of a child and released on her own recognizance, the DA’s office said.
