Martin Luther School expands middle school

A school with over 4,400 alumni has expanded its middle school and is accepting registration for students interested in September 2011 admission.

The Martin Luther School (MLS), located at 60-20 Maspeth Avenue in Maspeth, a co-educational independent Christian school, has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the National Lutheran School Accreditation, and registered by the New York State Board of Regents.

Founded in 1960, MLS has integrated the latest educational technology, an advanced placement program, and college-preparatory education, with a 95 to 98 percent graduate rate of continued higher-education. MLS offers advanced placement courses in calculus, chemistry, English literature, environmental science, Spanish, German, and US history.

With a diverse student body of 7 percent Asian, 15 percent African-American, 26 percent Hispanic, and 52 percent White, MLS takes pride in their school and their alumni.

Its newly expanded middle school program is committed to meeting the developmental and educational needs of its sixth through eighth graders through its English, fine arts, mathematics, foreign language, social studies, science, honors science, theology, and physical education curriculum.

The MLS will be offering its entrance exam on Saturday, March 5 at 8:30 a.m. for the fifth through ninth graders interested in attending.

In addition to providing students a quality Christian education, the MLS has opened its doors to various community organizations.
