JAMAICA — Police have asked for the public’s help on the whereabouts and identity of a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery and assault in Jamaica.
Police said the suspect entered the DC Cleaners at 138-16 Farmers Blvd. at around 3:05 p.m. June 10 with garments in his hand and placed them on the counter, police said.
The suspect then brandished a gun and demanded money and a struggle ensued before the suspect shot the victim in the torso before fleeing northbound on Farmers Boulevard, police said.
Police said the victim was in Jamaica Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was described as a black man, about 5-foot-7, 150 pounds and wearing a black or navy baseball cap with a red brim, gray cargo shorts and black and blue sneakers, police said.
