With all the controversy surrounding the global warming issue, one thing that should be done is to continue to plant trees.
Trees add value to residential and commercial property. They also provide cooling shade on hot summer days, as well as prevent soil erosion and release oxygen into the air while taking in carbon dioxide. In addition, trees provide sanctuary to our wildlife, which is also important.
There are over 50 species of trees that grow and thrive in our region, and we must continue to take care of them and plant additional ones. Trees also add beauty to our landscapes, roadsides and parks. They are our cathedrals of nature.
