Gabor Karsai, District Governor Rotary International District 7250 Brooklyn, Queens, and Nassau Counties

Gabor Karsai was born in Budapest, Hungary and immigrated to the USA in 1988. He owns Landmark Realtors, Inc., a commercial-residential real estate brokerage firm.

Gabor joined the Locust Valley Rotary Club in 1999 and served as president of the club in 2003-2004. He was elected to be District Governor of D-7250 for the 2011-2012 rotary year.

Together with a Hungarian Rotarians Matching Grant of $55,000, Gabor spearheaded the building of a trade school for an orphanage in Deva, Romania and helped secure sponsorship for 10 children in Thailand.

After spending four weeks as Group Study Exchange team leader in Manila, Philippines, he secured sponsorship for 15 street children. Gabor also spearheaded three matching grants that helped Cambodian families: Save a Child ($20,000), Save a Village I ($27,000) and Save a Village II ($23,000). He was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Sustainable Cambodia, a non-governmental organization helping rural Cambodian villages.

Gabor is the U.S. chair of Gift of Life Hungary and is currently working on a $92,500 Global Grant providing life saving heart surgery for 10 Romanian children in Hungary.

Gabor traveled to India in February, 2010 to volunteer at the country’s National Immunization Day and vaccinated at risk children against Pollo. Gabor is a four times Paul

Harris Fellow. He recently became faculty of the Rotary Leadership Institute and was also recently elected to the Board of Directors at RotaCare.

Gabor serves on the City of Glen Cove Youth Board and he is a Mentor for disadvantaged kids through the Glen Cove Youth Bureau. He is also the immediate past president of the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce. Gabor is the Charter President of the Gold Coast Business network and Vice President of the Long Island Commercial Network.
