Congressional Staff To Hear Cases
Rep. Bob Turner announced that he will be bringing his satellite office to Howard Beach and Ozone Park this coming week.
The events are an open door, walk-in forum for constituents of New York’s Ninth Congressional District to confer with Turner’s senior caseworker about personal claims issues with federal agencies.
“We have had a lot of success with our first couple of satellite field office events. We were able to assist many constituents by coming to their communities,” Turner said. “These events provide an important extension of my office’s constituent services which I consider to be one of the most important elements of representation.”
The events will take place on Monday, Feb. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Howard Beach Library, located at 92-06 156th Ave. in Howard Beach; and on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Ozone Park Library, located at 92-24 Rockaway Blvd. in Ozone Park.
The purpose of these field office events is to provide constituents within the Ninth District a convenient opportunity to meet with members of the congressman’s staff. These events also provide an opportunity for anyone in need of assistance with a federal or agency issue to discuss possible courses of action with the Congressman’s office.
Turner’s office can serve as a liaison between constituents and agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security Administration (SSA), and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
