Before raising the curtain on their production of the Broadway musical Pippin, the cast members and directors of the Christ the King Regional High School Theatre Company in Middle Village received a surprise memo and autographed picture of the show’s composer, Stephen Schwartz. As noted, the noted composer who also created the shows Godspell and Wicked offered best wishes for the high school’s production of Pippin, the tale of the fictious and soul-searching son of Middle Ages ruler Charlemagne. As shown, the cast and directors include (from left to right) Brittany Neiss, Frank Provenzano, Richard Cantoral, Michelle Ricciardi, Nina La-Luz Rivera, Alexis Massa, Alessandra Norman, Joseph Ortega, Musical Director Heather Arzberger, Director John Bellington, Director Frank DeBiase, Assistant Musical Director Jacqueline Caruana and Makeup Artist Christina Cascione. Christ the King’s production of Pippin runs this weekend, Apr. 27-29 and the following weekend, May 4-6. For ticket information, call 1-718-366-7400, Ext. 330, or visit www.ctkny.org.
