Flames lit up the night sky in Astoria after a twoalarm fire ripped through a home on Sunday night, July 15, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the inferno ignited at around 11 p.m. in the vicinity of 32nd Street and 38th Avenue. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 260, 262, 312, 325, 258, 255 and 292; Ladder companies 116, 117, 128, 163, 115, 106 and 136; Squad Co. 288; Rescue 4 and Battalions 45, 49, 8, 46 and 35-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 114th Precinct and EMS units. There were no reported injuries. Five hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, FDNY sources said.
