City Council Member Karen Koslowitz stands before the bounty of school supplies donated to her Forest Hills office as part of the Volunteers of America’s “Operation Backpack” between July 16 and Aug. 10. As noted, the campaign provides backpacks and school supplies to children currently living in homeless or domestic violence shelters. Koslowitz’s office was one of three drop-off locations for donations in Queens. In all, over 50 backpacks and 200 school supplies were donated by the public.
