Michael’s Funeral coughed up a big lead to lose to Paradise Aquarium 13-12 in league play during the Ridgewood-Glendale-Middle Village-Maspeth Little League game at Seither Stadium Apr. 15.
Michael’s Funeral jumped out to an early 6- 0 lead in the top of the first. Jack singled to ignite Michael’s Funeral’s offense. The scoreboard lit up again for Michael’s Funeral when Jack scored on a three-run double by #2 and a groundout by Chris.
Paradise Aquarium brought home one run in the third inning when Tyler F brought home Brady on an RBI single.
It was a good day at the plate for Paradise Aquarium’s Luis. He went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run.
Each team blasted the other’s pitching, and there were 25 total runs and 22 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using six pitchers in total.
Mike racked up four RBIs on two hits for Paradise. He tripled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning. Mike got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over three innings, struck out seven, walked four and gave up two hits.
With the score tied at 12 in the sixth inning, Luis came to the plate and singled, scoring Chris R and clinching the game for Paradise Aquarium.
