Suspect sought in Astoria brick attack on girl

Police were searching for a man who attacked a 16-year-old girl with a brick in an alley in Astoria Tuesday night, leaving her with serious head injuries.

The girl and the suspect, in his 20s, walked into an alleyway off 43rd Street between 23rd Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard around 11 p.m., when he assaulted her and ran off, police said. The teen was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was listed in critical but stable condition.

The NYPD was asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect, who was described as black, about 6 feet tall and wearing a dark jacket, a white T-shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and dark gloves.
