Fifth-graders at St. Matthias School in Ridgewood recently held a dress-down day to raise funds for the National Kidney Foundation. As noted, the students collected $1,000 in donations from their peers for the privilege of not wearing their uniform for a class day. The funds will be sent to the foundation for its efforts to help treat patients battling various kidney ailments and diseases. The fifth-grade Class 5B is pictured with the poster they made for the fund-raiser.
