Time for State to Pass Term Limits

Dear Editor:

We need term limits in Albany, as we have here in New York City. With all of the recent investigations of our state senators and leaders, it has become obvious that our state government cannot function without graft.

One of the main reasons why Albany is so corrupt is because many of these politicians have been in office too long. They have become arrogant, comfortable and self-serving. They forget that they were elected to serve their community.

Rather, they look to make money and promote themselves or their law practices and businesses.

Term limits in Albany, even if only for the next 12 years, would force a cleanup of corrupted officials and allow new leaders to be elected who are honest and willing to serve their communities for the limited two terms or eight years.

They will not have the time to be able to develop corrupt relationships with their patrons.

I applaud the FBI and law enforcement officials for keeping an eye on them. If it weren’t for their oversight, we would be like some European countries, bankrupt because of corruption.
