Suspect sought in possible Jx Hts hate crime: Police

JACKSON HEIGHTS — The NYPD was seeking information about a man wanted in connection with an assault that occurred within the 115th Precinct.

According to police, the man, described as being between the ages of 20 and 25, approached a 49-year-old woman at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and 88th Street March 17 and punched her in the face while making anti-gay statements.

The woman sustained bruising, redness and swelling to the lip.

Police said the suspect has black hair and a mustache and is known to frequent areas within the 115th Precinct. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating.
