The bodies of two people who had head injuries were found in the building where they lived in Ridgewood Monday night, police said.
Franco Montoya, 21, and Beatrice Morris, 28, were discovered by officers responding to a call about a past assault at about 9:30 p.m. inside a three-story brick building on Flushing Avenue a block from the historic Onderdonk House, the NYPD said.
Police said both were unconscious and unresponsive at the time, and emergency responders pronounced them dead at the scene.
Several hours later, more than a dozen officers were still conducting an investigation inside the ground floor of the building as a handful of onlookers peeked out the windows of the building next door.
Police said the medical examiner would determine the cause of Montoya’s and Morris’ deaths and the investigation was ongoing.
