A 2017 campaign committee recently registered with the state Board of Elections listed City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Sunnyside) as a candidate for the 37th Council District in Brooklyn.
A source close to Van Bramer’s campaign said the western Queens politician is not jumping on the Brooklyn bandwagon — but a filing error likely mixed up Van Bramer’s 37th Assembly District state committeeman position with his quest for a third term in the 26th Council District.
“He wants to continue serving the people of the 26th District for as long as they would have him,” the source said.
