EDWARD CATAPANO died on Saturday, August 2, at the age of 92. He
was the beloved husband of Rose Catapano, loving father of Anthony
Catapano, Vincent Catapano, Mary Vitale and Roseann Fornito, cherished
grandfather of Daniel, Audrey, Josette, Salina, Michael, Edward and Joseph
and dear brother of Nancy Petrozzino, Helen Caiafa and Frank Catapano. He
was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. A Mass of
Christian Burial was offered on Wednesday, August 6, at Our Lady of Hope
Church, Middle Village, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery,
Woodside, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand
Ave., Maspeth.

HENRYV. ANDREANA of Ditmas Park died on Tuesday, August 5, at the
age of 91. He was the devoted father of Henry, Angelina, Patricia and
Barbera and is survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered tomorrow, Friday, August 8, at
9:15 a.m. at St. Matthias Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at
Fairview Cemetery, Middletown, N.J., under the direction of Village
Chapels Inc., 67-67 Eliot Ave., Middle Village.

LUCY CATAUDELLA of Glendale died on Wednesday, July 30, at the
age of 79. She was the devoted mother of John Cataudella and Mary and
Thomas Haeberle and dear sister of Victor Ferraro. She is also survived by
two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Pancras
Church, Glendale, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle
Village, under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper
Ave., Glendale.

DENIS J. SULLIVAN of Glendale died on Wednesday, July 30, at the age of 57. He was the beloved son of
Josephine and the late Thomas and dear brother of Maura Kammerer and Terence Sullivan. He is also survived by
five nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Pancras Church, Glendale, followed by interment at St.
John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale.

STEVEN E. COLBERT of Brick, N.J., formerly of Ridgewood, died on Wednesday, July 29, at the age of 61. The
former owner of Jaco Tool Co. of Middle Village, he was the beloved husband of Katherine E., devoted father of
Melissa Chiofalo and Steven, loving grandfather of Alexander and Amelia, dear father-in-law of Benny Chiofalo and
dear brother of Dorothy Thomas, Helen Sala and Danny. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the
Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, L.I.,
under the direction of Hess-Miller Funeral Home, 64-19 Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village.

ELLA NERLICH died on Tuesday, July 29, in Marietta, Ga. at the age of 102. She was the wife of the late Karl
Nerlich, loving mother of Marie Karsch, Otto Nerlich, Joseph Nerlich and Carl Nerlich, mother-in-law of Neal,
Terry and Cathy, cherished grandmother of Lucien, Emil, Jimmy, Kirsten and Carl and great-grandmother of Gavin,
Tyler, Payton, Lucas, Hunter, Logan and Wyatt. Services were offered on Monday, August 4, at Papavero Funeral
Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I.

ROBERT CARPENTER died on Tuesday, July 29, at the age of 64. He was the beloved husband of Betty, loving
father of Jessica, Marisa and Robert, cherished grandfather of Lucas, Logan and Stella and dear brother of Anne,
Eileen and Edward. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Services were offered on Monday,

ALEXANDER BLOCH died on Sunday, July 27, at the age of 41. He was the
beloved son of Krystyna and the late Mieczyslaw Bloch and a loving brother,
wonderful uncle and dear nephew to many. Services were offered on Thursday,
July 31, at Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth, followed by
cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, and interment of
cremated remains at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village.

VIRGINIA OPREA of Babylon died on Saturday, August 2, at the age of 78.
A native of Bucharest, Romania, she was the wife of the late Zamfir and
devoted mother of Mariana Florea. She is also survived by two grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren. Services were offered at Morton Funeral
Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood, by Rev
Gheorghe Schlop, followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle
Village.

PAULINE STALZER of Ridgewood died on Tuesday, July 29, at the age of
95. A native of Ebental, Gottschee, Yugoslavia, she was the wife of the late
John and devoted mother of Frank Stalzer, Herbert Stalzer and daughter-in-law
Erna Stalzer. She is also survived by three grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of the
Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Calvary
Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood
Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.
