Marino Bros. pizzeria, a staple on 29th Avenue in Murray Hill for about two decades, is under new management and will celebrate its grand re-opening on Wednesday.
The restaurant, sold by former owner Peter Marino in May, according to city records, was known for its pairing with the Marino Bros. Supermarket, which has been located in the community for nearly three decades.
The new owners of the restaurant have changed the name to Alfredo’s Pizzeria, after one member of the two new proprietors, and they began renovating the eatery last week.
The sale counter was shifted back and the interior has been repainted. A new counter for making pizza is also planned.
A sign in the front of the store says the grand opening is set for Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Marino could not be reached for comment.
