Thief snatches supplements from Rite Aid, overpowers employee

By Tom Momberg

Police are searching for thief wanted for stealing vitamins last month from the Rite Aid pharmacy in Bayside, 43-20 Bell Blvd.

The suspect, who appeared in surveillance footage to be a man, walked into the store and put a number of vitamin supplements into a black and red duffle bag, police said.

When the suspect tried to exit the store, he was confronted by an employee. In a struggle between the alleged thief and the worker, the employee was overpowered and the suspect fled with the merchandise, according to the NYPD.

The employee refused any medical attention when police arrived.

The police did not release a description of the suspect they are looking for, but rather provided only photo stills from surveillance footage.

Anyone with information regarding the incident that took place on Saturday, Aug. 22 or the identity of the suspect is being encouraged to call NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS, which can be kept confidential.
