Two teenage boys charged in shooting of Far Rockaway girl: Cops

By Tom Momberg

Two 15-year old boys were arrested Saturday in the shooting death of a teenage girl in Far Rockaway, police say.

The two boys are each facing charges of manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.

Wilta Wordsworth, 15, was found Friday shot in the head in an apartment on Collier Avenue near Beach 22nd Street in the Far Rockaway, according to the NYPD.

Emergency Medical Services transported her to St. John’s Hospital where she was died sometime early Saturday morning, according to cops.

A friend of Wordsworth’s said the shooting was the result of horseplay that got out of hand when one of the boys pulled out a gun to play with, according to the New York Post.
