Man found impaled on fence in Belle Harbor

A dead man believed to be intoxicated was found impaled on a fence at his home in Belle Harbor early Friday morning, police said.

At about 2:08 a.m., police discovered a 56-year-old man impaled on a fence at 133 Beach 120th St., according to a police spokesman.

The man was attempting to gain access to his locked sixth floor apartment from the rooftop when he fell, the spokesman said.

The spokesman said police do not yet know if the victim was intoxicated.

The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death and the investigation was ongoing, he said.
